Current Needs Near Greenville, SC

We would love to have you join us in meeting the needs of the foster care community in Greenville, SC! (including Greenville, Anderson and Pickens Counties)

                                                                 As of July 10, 2013

                                                      Please prayerfully consider...

Journey Bags:  The DSS offices LOVE receiving these! This is a great project that anyone can get involved in.  We can provide you with a list of age-appropriate items to pack in each bag.  These bags demonstrate God’s love and care for the children as they transition to a foster home.

We would love for you to join in with us!  Email tfi.greenville@gmail.com to get a list of items. WE HAVE SEVERAL OFFICES NEEDING THESE!

DSS Visit Room Makeover: We are preparing to makeover two visit rooms and could do a third if we had the resources. There are many ways to get involved in this project.  Additionally, this same DSS office needs painters. They have supplies and just need some willing and able bodies.

Church Liaisons: We are looking for people who would like to be a bridge from TFI to their church and help to coordinate our efforts together! If this is something you would be interested in-please email Wendy at tfi.greenville@gmail.com

Diaper/Socks/Underwear Drives: Looking for people/groups/churches to host  drives for any of these items. This will benefit foster families, biological families in preventative services, and kinship parent. This will be a huge blessing to these families! Challenge your group to a certain number of items!

First Response Team: Looking for churches and people that would like to be part of this team to meet urgent needs of families. This could be anything from running to the store for a foster mom to pick up needed things for the child that just came into their home, looking in your network for a crib for a kinship parent, or helping a family in preventative services.  We also need people to be an encourager to new adoptive parents.  Please email me if you'd like to be on this list to be contacted when needs arise.

Experienced Adoptive Parents: Need adoptive parents who have journeyed the path and are willing to speak with others at training events.

Service Donations: Donate (or find others who will) lessons like dance, art, piano, etc or pay for a kid to play community v-ball or football.
Contractors: Foster parent licensing requirements can deter new foster parents. There is often a need to change window sizes in order to comply.

Prayer Team: Looking for those to be prayer warriors for our foster care community. Prayer has been requested time and time again. Would you join us in prayer for families?

  1. Good Afternoon!

My name is Jeanna and I am contacting you from Sesame Street Live!

Our show “Can’t Stop Singing” is coming to the BI-LO Center on September 20 – 22. I found your contact information when searching on the internet for family friendly businesses, and thought you might be a great promotional fit with our show and family audiences!

We work with many museums, schools, and other community event centers that we visit, and would love to work with you as well! Previous activities have included coloring contests and register to win contests. Feel free to get as creative as you want with the activity, and we will supply the materials and tickets at no cost to your company. It’s a great opportunity for the community and your patrons to become active together, and also lets them know that our show is in town!

If you are interested, please let me know. No matter how big or small the promotion, we would love to work with you!
